The Bathurst War Memorial Carillon, located in Bathurst’s Town Square, commemorates the men and women from Bathurst who have served in the various theatres of war and in peace-keeping operations since the First World War.
Although the carillon was officially opened on 11 November 1933, it has taken many years of dedication to realise the original vision of installing a clavier to give the carillon its full voice. Originally played by a pneumatic and then an electronic keyboard, a clavier has been added in recent years along with an additional 12 bells increasing the number from the original 35 to 47 bells.
